Amrapali's 6th CHIMERA 2022 solemnised



AMRAPALI (Society for ARTS) recently solemnized their annual International Mega Cultural Event, the 6th CHIMERA 2022 on February 2, 2022 at Rabindra Bhawan, Guwahati under the able guidance of internationally toured and founders Rudra Jayanta Bhagawati and Pranaame Bhagawati. The event was brought forward in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Affairs, Panchayat & Rural Development, Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission and Assam Tourism Development Corporation, Govt. of Assam, NCC North East Region Directorate (Shillong), FASS (USA), Global Assamese Entrepreneurship Forum (USA), South Point School, Barsapara and Asomiya Pratidin. The participants from different parts of the world participated virtually in 30+ competitions.

The show witnessed the presence of Guest of Honours and Distinguished Guests like Dr. Tanveer Monsur Roni – Assistant High Commissioner of Assistant High Commission Office of Bangladesh in Guwahati, Smt. Anita Sharma – Sattriya dance expert, Moinul Haque – Mime expert, Smt. Anjanamoyee Saikia – Odissi & Sattriya dance expert, Smt. Marami Medhi – Kathak dance expert and others.



The show enthralled the spectators with its production ‘Hanumate Namah’, conceptualized by Guru Rudra Jayanta, choreographed by Guru Pranaame and performed by Amrapali Repertory artistes – Wamiel Pranaame Kashyap, Shradhanjali Sharma, Tonmoyee Baruah, Tridhara Teja Kalita, Himaanisha Baishya, Koushik Dutta, Lakhyajit Baruah, Bhushan Talukdar and students of Durlav Yoga Kendra under able guidance of its Guru Debajit Nath.



Every year Amrapali honours eminent personalities who tirelessly work towards their field with the AMRAPALI ABHINAVA AADOR award on this occasion and this year 5 personalities from within Assam and 2 from within India were conferred with the award. The awardees were Shri Sankar Das – Eminent Author, Shri Devasish Sharma, ACS – Commissioner of Guwahati Municipal Corporation & Eminent Social Activist, Shri Bimal Kumar Borah – Prolific Cultural Administrator, Shri Krishnanjan Chanda – Educationist & Socio-Cultural Promoter, Late Shri Kumud Chandra Sarma – Playwright & Actor, Shri Rupak Mehta - Eminent Bharatanatyam Dancer & Cultural Activist (Mumbai) and Shri Kumar Anand – Hindustani Sashtriya Gayak (Ajmer).

The event also marked performances of Sattriya dance by Uttaran, Yoga by Saif Yoga Centre and Bharatanatyam dance by Kinnara Dance Academy.
